VA Apple store closed due to shooting, armed robbery attempt
Posted Jul 3rd 2009 1:20PM by Michael Rose

I've shopped at the Clarendon store, and the staff has always been unfailingly helpful and courteous. I hope that the victim of the shooting enjoys a complete and prompt recovery, and that the Clarendon team can also recover quickly from what must be a very traumatic experience.

Remy had it right - it's a straight up thug town, that Arlington! Totally not surprised to hear about a shooting in the Clizzledizzle... ;)

If you've got to get shot . . .
a. Make it go through you without hitting something important.
b. Make it a place you can show the scar without getting arrested.
c. Make a scrapbook so when you tell your grandkids, you have proof.
d. Get shot for doing something heroic.
e. Learn to sigh and say "I'm fine . . . really."
f. Accept sympathy from idiots without telling them they're idiots.

For those interested, Joshlyn (the woman shot, an acquaintance) is doing fine and even got a call from Steve Jobs checking up on her. Not too shabby!

All these comments and not one mention about guns and the violence in our country that they breed. Arlington or Anacostia--it's the guns, stupid.
The absence of any comment about how outraged we need to be about these weapons just smacks of our acceptance of them. Business as usual, eh?
So let's ramp up our scenario to imagine "several armed gunMEN stormed through the delivery door located at the rear of an Apple Store in an upscale area of Virginia today, killing dozens of men, women and children with dozens of rounds fired from assault rifles. No one was left alive."
Columbine, Virginia Tech, churches, recruiting stations, computer stores. What a harrowing country to be living in. Even more harrowing with guns.
